We print, therefore we are. And remember… printing is fun!

Rob Robinson

Hello fellow marketing professionals! I began my career in the industry way back in
1990, working for a handful of commercial printers in Southern California before moving
to Bozeman, MT in 2002 to join forces with Color World as the prepress manager. My
role quickly evolved to wearing many, many hats – as is the case with most of us!

Color World has been serving the marketing community for over 50 years. We have
seen the industry change dramatically over the decades and have evolved with it. From
our start with mostly offset printing, we now help businesses grow with a vast range of
capabilities including offset, digital, large format, mailings, full bindery and much more.
We expanded from just one discipline to multiple, helping us become a one stop shop
for our clients.

Every day we remind ourselves that our customers CHOOSE us over many other
competitors. We try and diffuse the complexities of any project, simplify things as best
as possible and make sure we are always available to help them navigate through the
process. Always be friendly, try and exceed expectations and always be an essential
partner to their success.

We couldn’t be happier to be part of the Speedy CPS network! In our 7 months as part
of the team, we have grown close with so many of you. We have leaned on you for
support, and have also tried to be available when support was needed. The expansion
of knowledge, services and capacity we are now benefiting from has been a huge win.

I started to list a series of challenges that we all encounter and overcome on a daily
basis but the list was long and my space here is limited, so I’ll simply say that we are
stronger as a team, and we should always remind ourselves why we do what we do.

Yes, we are here to make our customers look good, grow and succeed, but we are also
here because… PRINTING IS FUN!! Right Micah? Thank you to everyone, we look
forward to many more fun days ahead!

Center Employee Spotlight

Andrea Heilig

Customer Services Representative – Bozeman, Montana

A Big Hello to all you great printing people my name is Andrea. I have been in printing in some degree for the past 15 years for several businesses and it has been very rewarding.

When I am not at work expanding my knowledge and engaging with customers, I enjoy spending time with my extended family in the beautiful Montana outdoors. Whether it is hiking, camping, floating the rivers , back yard BBQs, and Holiday get-togethers, I love it all. I love playing card/board games, watching/listening to true crime documentaries or
just reading a good book.

Being in printing is never a dull moment and speaks to my creative and customer service side, from the small walk-in personal projects to the large complex ones, to understanding all the weird and wonderful printing we can do for our customers it is very exciting.

Project Spotlights

MSU Quarterback Club Head Cutouts

Location: Bozeman, MT

Earlier in July we had a lot of fun creating these oversized head cutouts for the
MSU Quarterback Club – all 17 of them! Randall Glynn, one of our newest
victims I mean employees, created all of the throughcut files in Illustrator and
then sent them to large format for production. These are always a crowd
pleaser!!

Marketing Tip

“Did It Even Work?” — This Month, We Start Answering That

Picture one of our customers — a marketing manager at a growing multi-location company. Every quarter, she spends real money on marketing. And every quarter, she runs into the same quiet frustration: she can’t prove most of it worked. A mailer goes out, and then… silence. Did anyone see it? Did it drive a single call? She honestly doesn’t know — and it nags at her every time budget season rolls around.

She’s exactly who this month is about.

What’s Happening In August

The first “Mail That Proves Itself” piece drops this month, landing in mailboxes across Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming — the first of three drops, with more going out in September and October. Behind each piece is AG Mail 2.0: eight connected technologies (call tracking, online follow-up ads, response reporting) that do something no other printer in our markets can do — show a customer exactly what their mail accomplished.

For that marketing manager, that changes everything. No more guessing. No more defending a budget with a shrug.

Where We All Come In

Here’s the thing: she doesn’t experience “the campaign.” She experiences us — the person who answers her call, the designer who touches her file, the press operator who makes her piece look incredible, the front counter that greets her when she walks in. Every one of those moments either builds her confidence or chips away at it.

So when she — or any customer — holds up a mail piece and asks, “What’s this AG Mail 2.0 thing about?”, here’s how to handle it:

  1. Start with the problem it solves, not the product. “Most businesses can’t tell if their marketing works. This fixes that.”
  2. Then give her the short version: “When we send mail for you, we can show you exactly what happened next.”
  3. Hand it off with confidence. You don’t need every technical answer — connect her with your GM, sales representative, or Adam for the deep dive. Getting her to the right person is helping her.

Why it’s worth getting right

If a customer asks what it is and gets a shrug, this becomes just another postcard, and she goes back to guessing. But if she gets a confident answer, she becomes something better: the customer who finally walks into budget season with proof her marketing worked — and we know exactly what made that possible.

The first drop will be in mailboxes at the end of August. Two more will follow. Let’s make every conversation count.
